Current Event: Korea
Find and read a current event about North Korea (or South Korea).
You might search "escape from camp 14", weapons, humanitarian conditions.
1) Write a brief summary of the article (2-4 sentences).
2) Make bullet points to answer the question: How does this current event stem from, relate to or show progress/change from the political situation in Korea during 1950-53?
Period 8 current events are due Tuesday April 24
Periods 2 and 4 should bring current events Thursday, 4/26

Read and take notes or print and highlight the LaFeber reading on Korea.
You will be working on an evaluative timeline of the Korean War so be sure to bring all your notes/readings to class.

Skim Chapter 5 of Causes, Practices and Effects of War. Use the text to help you answer questions 1-3 for your your oral test.
Class tomorrow will meet in the language lab downstairs (71E).

3/15/12 - Paper 2 Rough Draft due in class
3/19/12 - Oral Test WWII (one 3x5 card allowed, have typed questions ready to turn in if needed)
